Atascocita High School Project Graduation will hold an open house on Saturday, May 29. Parents, vendors and supporters are invited to tour the school and preview the decorations created for this years party. Students who attend the event can look forward to live entertainment, a personal disco, a casino, live entertainment, unlimited video gaming, and even a mechanical bull. The theme for the party will be "The Amazing Race."
Project Graduation is an alcohol and drug free celebration held following high school graduation ceremonies. The celebration is a modern tradition that began in Maine following the deaths of 12 teenagers in alcohol-related accidents while attending graduation related parties.
AHS chairman Suzanne Kuhlman said that the goal is to "provide each student with a safe, drug and alcohol free environment to celebrate their graduation accomplishments and just have a great time with each other."
