Constables Apprehend Raonte McGowen for Unlawful Weapon Possession

CONSTABLES ARREST SUSPECT FOR UNLAWFULLY CARRYING A WEAPON

On April 15, 2024, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 7400 block of FM 1960 Rd East. The driver was identified as Raonte McGowen.

Further investigation revealed that he had two open Misdemeanor Warrants and that he was in possession of a loaded firearm and marijuana.

"Raonte McGowen was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 2." - Constable Mark Herman

Two open warrants carrying a gun and possession of marijuana and he only has to pay $10. And they wonder why crime is so bad.

The real beef here is the classification of the crime. It's only a misdemeanor, so it's actually odd that he even got a bond on that charge.

Misdemeanor Warrants
Those are not actively often pursued unless happening across the suspect. He likely didn't even know of the warrants if misdemeanors.

Often times you're set free again with a notice to appear (traffic stop) unless you were stopped for another criminal action.
