Would someone explain to me why parents would buy pre-teens an ATV and have their kids riding up and down the street. I was driving through one neighborhood and this kid almost got hit by a car in front of me. Sometimes I wonder what are parents thinking? Since it is a public street I don't think it's legal for him to be driving on it anyway. Further if someone did unfortunately hit the child the parents would be the first ones to try to sue. Am I crazy?
I take her to my lease or my wooded property in Splendora away from civilization. I make sure she wears her helmet and I also have her wear blaze orange in case hunters are in the area.
I have the same issue with kids driving golf carts around. The law says you must be going to or from a golf course and I constantly see a cart full of kids tooling around the neighborhood, not a club in sight..
