My son would love to meet new friends. We are moving to the area soon. Are there any groups who meet up for outings? He is in fifth grade and loves Minecraft and playing outside. Thanks!

@javagirl:

Hardly ever see anyone say that their kiddos love "playing outside" anymore. In fact, spotting a kid outside in my neighborhood playing is like an endangered species sighting.

That being said, you may well find a ton of ready and willing kids in your new neighborhood. Welcome! We lived in the Oaks for a few years and had great neighbors there. We are just around the corner now in Pinehurst and like it over here too. (Aside for the ongoing ACIA issues but let's not get that started!)

@javagirl:

Will you be here before the school year ends or after? Lots of fun activities for 5th graders at the end of the year (depending on the school) where he'll likely make some buddies for the summer!

What subdivision? Most sub pools have a lot of kids starting Memorial Day through the summer. Churches in the area are also active with youth groups/children's ministries. Karate? Swim? Any sports?

Welcome!
