Go figure....the second pajama day of the season at Eagle Springs Elementary, and it's going to be in the mid 70's.... the last one they had, a couple of weeks ago, it was in the low 70's as well. I guess they are doing a Polar Express thing at school on Thursday, but it will be too hot for him to wear his Christmas jammies. What a bummer.

My pajama day was last Sunday. Did not get up until 10am and did not leave the house until 8pm.

I'm not a huge fan of pj days. I'm never sure of what shoes to put on them and then inevitably there is somewhere we must go after school and the kid is not dressed. And it's weird too if they go to after school care and the kids that go to other elementaries are not in pjs.

I subbed today and I wore my pajamas! While it does feel a little strange, like I forgot to get dressed this morning, it is also fun and very comfortable! I loved seeing all of the kids, especially those in the older grades, get into the spirit of Christmas.

@Txcajungirl76:

Do you enjoy subbing? My husband is in the process of changing his career path, and wants to go into teaching. He has his English/creating writing degree, and needs to get certified, which he will begin next month. In the meantime, he has started to process to begin subbing in the HISD.

At Polar Express night there were adult ladies wearing strappy low cut tank tops and PJ pants - a lot of cleavage for elementary student event in my opinion! I think these ladies need to understand that it's the general spirit of a PJ day - not, you know, actually what you wear to sleep in! Sheesh.

Yes I absolutely love subbing! I have been doing it for almost a year and am working on earning my teaching certification note that my youngest is in kindergarten. The hiring process isn't bad but it can be slow so tell him to be patient if he doesn't get immediate replies. What ages/grades is he interested in subbing for?

Not sure yet, but I know he is mostly interested in teaching High School English once he gets his certification, but I think he may also consider Middle School English.

I enjoy subbing at AHS and I also liked Kingwood Park although I only subbed there once. The only time I go to humble high is to sub for my cousin. There are always high school jobs listed on the board but not necessarily in English classes. I love subbing at timberwood also. I think it's a great way to get your fit in the door if you want to pursue a teaching job. I wish your husband the best of luck!
