Can anyone recommend a decent brand of MP3/media player *that isn't Apple* for a tween gift? Emoticon

I think that just about sums it up...I don't know that I have even seen anyone using Ipods (or equivelant) much. Everything is on phones or tablets, or both.
I was looking for a mass storage component that I insert CDs, copy and could store my huge music collection, digitally....something that I could access and play just like a CD player...but nothing even exists that I can find.

We've used Sandisk Sansa for the past several years, myself, my husband and my 16 yr old son. They last pretty well, can cover multiple formats, have a radio , can play audiobooks, and also subscription tracks ( if you have a music sub) and they're usually under $75 (depending on what size you get)
