Help Wanted: Home Health Scheduler
The Home Health Scheduler is under the direction of upper management. The scheduler is responsible for coordinating the daily schedule for the nurse visits, as well as communicating with agency in accordance with client�s medical needs. The scheduler is also responsible to administratively coordinate the office functions ensuring smooth processes in regards to files, communication (phones, faxes, copying), schedules, billing prep, and quality assurance.
� Ensure the accuracy of the Medicare schedule.
� Take referrals and get ready for the admission: verify & get directions.
� Ensure the proper frequency based on the schedule and the SNV/PT/OT notes turned in on a daily basis
� Verify nurse�s notes on a daily basis.
� Ensure orders are signed and/or delivered to be signed by the ordering physician and document when the order was actually sent to the physician by mail or fax on log.
� Set the nurses schedule for the upcoming day.
� Complete HHA Medicare bath schedule.
� Answering phone and relying messages, faxing information and making copies as needed
� Set up patient charts � compile patient admit packets.
� Filing patient charts and assuring that all items in the chart are completed within 48 hours.
� Thin charts as appropriate.
� Compile and maintain an inventory of 5 blank charts
� Compile and maintain admit packets for nursing personnel
� Assisting with ordering and tracking medical supplies
� Participates in the quality assurance program, gather data and prepare reports. Processes client surveys.
� Assist as needed with completion of charts and tracking date sensitive materials for files.
� Perform any other task as assigned by the supervising nurse/case managers/administrators.
Skills Required:
At least 6 months of medical office/home health scheduling experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work well with others within a team setting.
Ability to utilize effective time management skills.
Ability to interpret instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
