As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, we sat down this week with Dustin Wells, owner of Pillar Plumbing.

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
We specialize in residential and light commercial plumbing services and expertly resolve drain, water heater, faucet, fixture, and other plumbing-related issues. I’ve been personally involved in our family-owned and locally run business for over 12 years.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work?
Since 1949, our third-generation plumbing business has served our customers with superior service and fair, upfront pricing on every call.  A WWII veteran, Lloyd Chaffee, founded us.
I served in the US Coast Guard for seven years, driving a boat on search and rescue missions. Upon completion of my service, I settled in my wife’s hometown in western NY. Her family owned the small HVAC and plumbing business. Her dad needed some help running things and extended a career and business opportunity to me.
With a degree in business and inclination to build and repair, I took over the family business specializing in HVAC and plumbing. After growing and selling that business, I moved back to Texas (where I’m from) and established Pillar Plumbing.
I’m a proud Kingwood resident, and I am personally involved in the planning, diagnosis, engineering, estimating, and installation of your plumbing system.

Tell us a couple of things that you are proud of in your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
My professionalism, integrity, and service perfection set me apart from most plumbing companies. I count it a blessing and honor to serve those that call me. I treat each of my customers like family.

What is your favorite part of running this business?
I love helping people and really do enjoy working with plumbing systems. I also enjoy meeting my neighbors and giving them peace of mind about their household or business plumbing systems.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal customer is any individual who owns and resides in their home and wants things done right the first time, as well as any business owner who wants the same. Our customers appreciate that we are a local, family-run business.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
We back all of our superior plumbing work, products, and solutions with a warranty and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I explain options and make a recommendation, ensuring that each of my customers has the information they need to make a wise decision.
We also offer specials for new clients, 0% financing options, accept credit cards, and also offer discounts for veterans, public service employees, and more. To learn more about our services and view our specials, visit our website.
I love Jesus, my family and Jiu Jitsu! If I’m not helping you, I’m likely actively involved in one of these passions!

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
We will continue to slowly grow our service offerings and coverage area to serve an even more extensive coverage area. We will expand our business organically so that we never diminish the same level of service and quality.
