Harris County opened the first COVID-19 testing site in Humble on Monday, April 20th, and a testing site in Tomball as well.

Harris County officials are striving to make it easier for people in the Humble and Tomball areas to get tested. Medical staff are hoping to be able to test about 120 people a day at these sites.

Currently, the test sites are prioritizing those with symptoms, but if someone thinks they were exposed to an infected person, they can also request to be tested.

The opening of the site in Humble will make testing more accessible for our area, as well as testing for children under 13. Harris County Public Health also opened the first testing site in Tomball last week. The addresses of the two sites will be disclosed to people only after they are successfully registered for testing, according to an April 13th news release.

The site in Humble will offer testing April 20-22 and May 7-9. The testing site in Tomball will perform testing April 27-29. The hours that the testing sites will be open are from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Harris County Commissioner Jack Cagle stated that this site and the companion sites have to do the nasal swab, which is the method used for children aged 13 and under. Results are expected to be received as early as two days.

Those that wish to be tested must first register at www.readyharris.org, or call 713-439-6000.
