As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week we sat down with Lori Baxley, franchise owner of Massage Heights Body + Face.

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?

Since 2009, we have offered a variety of massage types, including Hemp-Infused, Dynamic Cupping, Dry Brushing, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Couples, and Pre-Natal, along with other targeted treatments to help take our client’s wellness to new heights.
Plus, we offer massage elevations such as hot stone therapy, revitalizing face massage, facial skin therapy including essential, clear skin, sensitive skin, anti-aging treatments to microdermabrasion and power peels, a reviving foot scrub and a therapeutic aromatherapy that helps our clients relax, breathe, energize and revive!
Our neighbors come here to relieve stress and recharge. Our licensed massage therapist evaluates their health, wants and individual requirements and creates a custom-tailored perfect massage or skin care regimen for each client. We guarantee an affordable and professional therapeutic service in an upscale environment that results in true relaxation.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work?
I was in sales prior to operating this franchise location. It’s been so rewarding to be able to get to know my neighbors, watching them focus on their health, follow a consistent wellness program and see them feel their best.

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
I’m very proud of the way we impact people’s lives. We have members that have been with us since the day we opened. In fact, one of our clients was in a wheelchair when they joined and now they can stand!

What is your favorite part of running this business?
I love working with our marathon runners and Ironman athletes, especially before their big events and post-event.  I love cheering them on!

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal customer is any person who wants physical and mental relief that they know they deserve on a regular and routine basis.
Your body works hard to keep up with your busy lifestyle, and regular massage treatments provide the relaxation and wellness benefits your body requires.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
Getting a massage is not a one-time treat, an indulgence, a reward for a tough week, or a luxury!  It’s a way of life, like going to the gym. And, with our affordable membership programs, our clients can be their best, making it easier to deal with life’s curve balls.
Our Lifestyle Programs are customized memberships that provide a series of rejuvenating sessions —each building on the last — to calm our client’s nerves, clear their mind, and elevate their everyday.

Visit our website for membership program details, and other special promotions. We also have our own loyalty-based rewards program, MyHEIGHTSrewards, and offer gift card options of any denomination.
Those who mention this article can receive a free elevated hot stone therapy massage or a foot scrub (a $40 value).

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
We will continue to offer services to help our clients relax and recharge and plan to offer more services all the time. We also plan to increase our philanthropy within our community.  We will be actively providing free chair massages at our local schools for teacher appreciation and we will be helping “Animeals," where pet food is delivered along with Meals on Wheels.
