New mothers are invited to attend Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital’s free Breastfeeding Made Simple Support Group now offered every Monday from 4 to 6 pm
During each meeting, moms will be able to spend time with other mothers and babies in a nurturing environment where they can learn and share best practices, including how to get newborns to latch, breastfeeding positions, and how to determine how much breast milk their baby is getting using pre- and post-feeding weight. The support group is led by an experienced mother and registered nurse. For more complicated breastfeeding issues, there’s a dedicated certified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC®) lactation consultant. Siblings are welcome.
“Memorial Herman Northeast stands by its commitment to the Lake Houston and surrounding areas to provide quality care and meet the needs of this growing community. We are glad to be able to provide support to new and experienced mothers at the beginning of their journey of motherhood,” said Holly Reynolds, Women’s Services Director at Memorial Hermann Northeast.
The support group is held in the Women’s Classroom on the second floor of the hospital’s Southwest Tower, 18951 Memorial North, Humble, TX 77338.
Registration is required by visiting www.memorialhermann.org/classes-events.
