Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital employees and volunteers donated
more than 6,000 pounds of food to Humble Area Assistance Ministries
(HAAM) during the hospital’s Second Annual Summer Food Drive for HAAM.
“There
are so many youngsters in our area during the summer who are dependent
on meals when they’re out of school and not getting a school meal,” said
Millie Garrison, executive director of HAAM. “That’s why we’re so
grateful to our Memorial Hermann Northeast friends for their generous
contributions.”
In addition to donating food, Memorial Hermann
Northeast employees donated $1,377 in cash to HAAM to purchase food at
the Houston Food Bank.
Memorial Hermann Northeast’s Partners in
Caring (PIC) team and the hospital’s Chaplaincy Program coordinated the
drive. PIC team members Brittany Tinsley, Gwen Haws, Dawn Allen,
Kimberly Stokes and Chaplain Andy Chao chaired the effort. Chick-fil-A
Deerbrook Mall provided free coffee and sandwiches to employees.
The
Memorial Hermann Northeast PIC Team also sponsors a Back to School
Supply Drive for Humble ISD as well as a Fall Food Drive and Holiday Toy
Drive, both for HAAM.
