Canned Green beans either French cut or regular cut, Campbell's (no subs) cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup, and since they ran Durkees out of business I now use the Good Value Onion Rings in a bag from Walmart. They are yummy. This is basically the original recipe and we call it the Ohio State Casserole.
@MrsT : My fav is roasted fresh green beans just like you described! Sometimes, we drizzle a little pure maple syrup and crushed red pepper flakes up in there! Toasted almond slivers on top. 😀
Fresh green beans, boiled until tender in chicken broth (no insipid, bland canned beans here). 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup. 1 soup can of milk Half the onions mixed in Top with grated sharp white cheddar and the remaining onions.
I saw a holiday green bean recipe the other day that looked interesting. Literally raw fresh green beans that you smashed a little with a rolling pin and served with some kind of fancy citrus vinaigrette, I think? I'll try and find it. I love raw green beans for snacking!
