Thanks for your answer. Why Glock 23, and not 19? And for a female - to run with - would something lighter, like Ruger 38 caliber be better? Also, is Glock23 a 40 cal? Should I care about 38 cal, 40 cal or 9 mm? I really need help... or should I just go to a gun store and try it all out? Thank you again.... and yes, I will have to get my License to Carry...

Everything is all a matter of preference. The Glock 23(.40 Cal) and 19 (9mm) are both the same size. The difference is the caliber. To me, it doesn't matter much about the caliber size. It's all about shot placement. Definitely, go to a gun range or even better a gun show to hold and holster as many firearms as possible.
