Humble ISD will once again host the annual High School Marching Band Festival on Saturday, October 8 at Turner Stadium.

The festival will feature six high school marching bands. All five Humble ISD high school bands will perform in addition to Crosby High School. For most of these bands, the festival serves as the first contest performance of the year as the bands prepare for their upcoming UIL marching competition on October 15.

Parking and admission are free and concessions will be available for purchase.

The schedule for Saturday's festival will be:

9:00 a.m. Humble High School
9:20 a.m. Kingwood Park High School
9:40 a.m. Crosby High School
10:00 a.m. Atascocita High School
10:20 a.m. Summer Creek High School
10:40 a.m. Kingwood High School

Thank you for posting.
I have a thing for marching bands...especially military style so I would love to attend.
Back in the day KW, Humble and Atascocita were Military style.
Does anyone know if they still are?
This moomaw would love to know.
TIA

@MooMaw : My HS was military style. I enjoyed being a part of it. Our band director went on to become the AD at Tex A&M which has the best marching band in the country

@Smokeybear : I shall agree.
See if you can see me…The Boy is on the end playing trumpet.
The song being played is Noblemen of Kyle Field.
Gives me goosies.

@Smokeybear : A good friend of mine, who I was in HS band with and who dated my best friend, went on to the A&M Aggie Band. Then retired from the Army as a Brigadier General, he became Commandant of the Corp of Cadets at A&M from 2010 to 2021,

@AtascocitaDotCom : Cool. Thanks for posting. I love marching bands. True story. There was a high school football field that backed up to my parents' backyard. The band would practice every day for one hour in the morning. I would sit out in the backyard on my swing and watch them practice. My mother said that she knew that she could get a lot done while I was watching. It was like free babysitting for her. Only problem was when they quit practicing and went inside I'd throw a major temper tantrum. Every. single. day. My poor mother said she would have paid them to stay out there and play all day if she could.
