Traffic stop in Atascocita leads to arrest for possession of methamphetamine

On 1/16/22, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 7700 block of E FM 1960 Road. The driver was identified as Billy Copeland.

During the course of the traffic stop, he was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.

"Billy Copeland was arrested and booked in the Harris County Jail, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 178th District Court." - Constable Mark Herman

Looked up address. This is Near Willowbrook. Why does it say Atascocita On here???

My son was on meth real bad a while back !! He kept overdosing and the kingwood hospital just kept cutting him loose. He`d get arrested ( and I`d say finally. maybe he wont die) and they would let him loose. Till finally He hit someone rolling through a stop sign by the kingwood hospital while all messed up and he went to prison. He spent about 4 years there and got out a few months ago. Stays with his dad right now and we talk on the phone. My point was is that how much he cleaned up and got healthy looking. Prison did him good. Now I pray he is able to keep it up !!

IDK - I would tend to think if a 70 yr old guy wants to do some drugs - Id probably let him; but he is probably a lifer dedicated and may well be spending taxpayer money to get high....

@walkchalk : I am very sorry for this. We've had this in our family as well (drug use)... not an easy way out for certain; I pray and hope that your son comes to the realization that this is not the life for him and that he wants to get healthy and overcome whatever is causing him to do these things.

Unfortunately, in America, we don't treat emotional issues as we do other physical issues; i.e. to me - the brain is part of our body; as is our lungs or our heart or our ears. All part of our bodies and ALL should be equally treated, as needed; I HATE the stigma people put on those that need help emotionally.... I truly think this is part of our opiate problem - we brush it under the rug - "oh they just need to get over it"... no - "they" need assistance with that part of their body just as you do with your (insert body issue here)....

Prayers for you dear and your son.. .. truly.. xo

@TheCatsMeow : It's just one address is East 1960, the other is just 1960. If you copy and paste from the OP as typed, the map doesn't recognize the E and gives you the other address.
