I used to donate blood as often as allowed, but now my medications prohibit donating.

I would love to, but I have had Hep A. The blood bank excludes me.

Donated 2-3 times a year for about 25 years. It gave me the heebie-jeebies to give but gave anyway. Can't stand the sight of blood. Cross doctor and medical examiner off my list of career choices.
Used to help run Red Cross Blood Drives at my work. I usually worked the canteen and only had 1 donor pass out in about a dozen years of doing it. It was a great way for me to network with others who worked there.
Medical conditions and treatments make me ineligible now.

I normally run a blood drive at this time of year, but unfortunately, they did not have a day for me this month.

I past out once at the Vet's office had one of my dog's there for a check up they were drawing blood. And asked me to hold him . I saw them stick him then put the blood into the tube . After they where done I sat down and over I went.

Did you know that the RC sells the blood donations to hospitals who then charges the patients they give it to?Source is from former Business Manager from RC.

@egteddie : That is unfortunate. The drives I have coordinated are through Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, and I do not believe they charge the hospitals for the blood. I believe the drives advertised here are also through GCRBC
