New Expanded Service of the Tow and Go Service

Loading Image...

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) has officially expanded the service area of the Gulf Coast Regional Tow and Goâ„¢ Program. The service area now includes all camera-monitored freeways in Harris County, Bellaire, Humble, Jersey Village, and La Porte!

If your vehicle breaks down on a freeway in the Tow and Go service area, call us at 713-881-3333 to have your vehicle towed to a safe area at no cost to you. Tow and Go operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. For more information, visit TowandGo.com.

And....it's been improved. It used to tow you up to 2 miles to the nearest gas station (to get you off the freeway) and if you wanted more it was a cpl hundred dollars plus mileage.
It will now to you to their storage lot and hold for 48 hours WITH NO CHARGE, giving you plenty of time to make a better decision what to do with your vehicle.
Also will change your tire free Emoticon

SAFECLEAR IS NOW KNOWN AS THE TOW AND GO PROGRAM

The SafeClear Program, originally begun in 2005, has recently been made a part of the Houston-Galveston Area Council's regional traffic management plan, and will now be known as the Tow and Go Program. The Program operates as follows:

Stalled vehicles on Houston's freeways will be towed to a nearby safe location off the freeway at no cost to the motorist
If your vehicle has a good spare and a jack, the wrecker driver will change your flat tire at no cost
If you wish to be towed to your home or another location, the City of Houston's non-consent tow fee applies, which is currently $174.00 for the first 20 miles, and 2% per mile thereafter
Your vehicle can be towed to a nearby storage lot, where it will be stored at no cost for up to 48 hours. Storage fees will begin to accrue after 48 hours
The tollways and the Katy Freeway HOT lanes are not included

Alot of folks think their service, of getting towed to their mechanic or their home is free, it's not, and it's very expensive. Your mfr warranty, or a buddy at a tow co, is ALWAYS better.
I had a gf break down on the BW between 45 and the toll booths, called me and had the Tow and Go on their way. I told her to have him tow her to a gas station so she is safe and then I'll have my buddy tow her to Humble (our mechanic) for $80. Nope, she knew everything, and she saw a commercial where it was free and why would she want to pay $80 when it was free.
Cost her $270 to get towed to Humble, ain't nothing free!
