Thanks for the information. I might have to show up and ask some tough questions like how his department feels about the Court system systematically giving deferred adjudication to hardcore offenders. I know Chief Art Acevedo took a strong stance against Kim Ogg and the Courts.

He's a good guy, who lives in our area and has a child that is in Humble ISD. I've run into a few of his deputies over the years, and one interaction with a deputy really stood out. I was at a Gun Range and a deputy was in uniform picking up a firearm from the gun shop. I asked him about the Sherriff, and his response "I've been in the department for X amount of years, and he is the best Sherriff we've had. I do not agree with his politics but in terms of the leader of men/women, and getting the department back on the right track, we couldn't have a better Sherriff."

This guy is a tattooed up veteran, who's on the extreme right as far as politics. How do I know, because he mentioned it in our 10-minute conversation. Usually, those that are hard left, or hard right will let you know early. Haha.

@TSUalum05 :

I have not heard anything bad about him but I wish he took a stand like Chief Art Acevedo. I am not a big fan of Acevedo but I totally agreed with him criticizing Kim Ogg and her failures along with the Harris County Judges in regards to their using deferred adjudication for hardcore offenders. I too helped a Harris County cadet practicing at the range as she was not familiar and she came up to as I was in my tactical uniform and asked me for advice and I showed her what I learned from instructors from current to previous employer and told her pick the one she likes and utilize it.
