"The City of Humble will continue to operate its red light camera program and issue photo enforcement tickets as allowed by law. The City will also abide by the terms of its contract with Verra Mobility (formerly American Traffic Solutions) until such time that cancellation terms that do not adversely affect the city can be negotiated and agreed to between the two parties.
If you have additional questions, please contact the Photo Enforcement Office at 281-964-6025."

I got ticketed twice since living here, both time yea I did not stop. Never got a ticket when I came to a complete stop. The only things I don't like about them is they put the burden of proof on the owner of car instead of the driver. Even if you were not driving good luck getting just anyone to accept responsibility for running it. Two they are lying about the safety aspect of them, no one cares about your safety except you. These are for revenue plain and simple.

@mw3538 : That why they outlawed them about burden of proof but they let them continue until contracts end not to cause financial problems with the cities and towns for breaking contracts.

So does that mean they will drop them after the contract expires but sooner if they can reach a "cancellation agreement"?

There is something in the new law that states if you don't pay your ticket they can't refuse your registration renewal, it can't show up on your insurance, and it can't be pointed on your license. So it sounds like a scare tactic now

The only thing it does is prevent you from renewing your registration online (if unpaid).

It is an interesting topic...Yet another example of technology taking jobs....More cameras, less officers needed....I'm sure the "brass" will say "it frees up our officers to respond to more serious crimes"....To which I'll say: For $4.5 Million, if that's what you're getting on traffic violations alone, which can also be patrolled by real American Worker LEOs that are dedicated to those intersections, you can have 90 MORE officers at a $50k wage per year!...

And when did our law enforcement become "for profit" entities?
