A flash flood watch will be in effect for the entire region from 1:00 pm today (Thursday, May 9) to 7:00 pm tomorrow (Friday, May 10). Rainfall amounts are expected to be from 5 to 8 inches widespread. Significant street flooding is possible in areas of high hourly rainfall rates.

The Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) is continuing to monitor rainfall trends, which is expected to fall in clusters of intense bursts averaging 5-8 inches across the county through Saturday. With grounds saturated, additional heavy rainfall will likely result in increasing run-off and rapid rise on area creeks and bayous potentially to levels that could result in flooding. Additionally, there is also a risk of damaging hail and strong winds with isolated tornadoes possible.

@ladybeachbum : HEB has prime brisket on sale. It had lots of fat so I opted for the cheaper cut. Smoked for 6 hrs. Its wrapped up tight and in the oven now.😋

@Vodkatini : I went to HEB and ended up with chicken breast and a couple of brisket burgers. The brisket was almost gone and what they had was heavy fat. I considered just buying the really trimmed but didn't. I did buy some HEB Cream Nutty Cone ice cream that I've already had a taste and it is GOOD. I did just get a quart! I know me and no one here beside me likes nuts! So, if the electric goes out, I should eat the ice cream first!

Saw a new flavor of blue bell when there and succumbed. Raspberry fudge brownie. It's just ok. Wish I could find mocha almond fudge or double fudge brownie.
