Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

According to reports from PCT 4, on March 12, 2019, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 18600 block of Droitwich Drive in Atascocita.

The driver was identified as Derek Rideaux Jr.

During the course of the traffic stop, Rideaux was found in possession of marijuana, Xanex and hydrocodone without a prescription.

All evidence was seized to be used in his trial.

"Derek Rideaux Jr. was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 07." - Constable Mark Herman

I usually poke fun, but honestly, so this guys guy had a little weed and a few pills that doctors prescribe (I know not to him) and now he has to spend the night in jail? Who did he hurt and what threat is he?
I know the law is the law but Im just pointing out how silly it can be at times.

@LuGar : If he wants to party, keep it at home. My ex used to take pills, most of them prescribed to him, then go out. He's been arrested multiple times for it but done maybe a month in time total?

@MrsT : Totally agree. But If he was driving under the influence then Id have a diff comment but all it said was he had pills on him.

@LuGar : He was always under the influence but never charged with it except once, and that time he'd been drinking. And that was after a few crashes and being pulled over for reckless driving.
