Harris County Fire Marshal's Office (HCFMO) Assistant Chief Bob Royall was recently awarded the Emergency Management Association of Texas (EMAT) Lifetime Achievement Award, at the 2019 EMAT Leadership Symposium in San Marcos.

The EMAT Lifetime Achievement Award honors and acknowledges the superior achievement, over an entire career, of a member of the emergency management community whose dedication to the betterment of the field in Texas is evident by substantially influencing emergency management efforts state-wide.
 
"The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office is proud of the work Assistant Chief Royall has done while working at HCFMO, and throughout his career," said Harris County Fire Marshal Laurie L. Christensen. "Chief Royall has been an integral part in the response to numerous disasters and HAZMAT incidents over his tenure, and we are grateful for his service to the people of Harris County, the state of Texas, and our nation."
 
"I am extremely humbled to receive this award," said Assistant Chief Bob Royall. "It has been an honor to work in the field of emergency management and serve my community."
 
Eligible recipients of this prestigious award must have at least 20 years of service directly involved in emergency management, influence emergency management programs state-wide, serve in a leadership capacity, develop and implement effective programs, apply innovative ideas, and manage extraordinary response and recovery efforts to major disasters. Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management nominated Assistant Chief Royall for the EMAT Lifetime Achievement Award.
