FamilyTime Crisis and Counseling will once again honor 13 women in the Lake Houston and surrounding areas who have had a positive impact on their communities.
"Each year, FamilyTime is proud to recognize and celebrate women who work tirelessly to provide a better life, education, vision, and other important needs in our communities," said Susan Meinholz, board president and gala chair.
The 2018 Women of Achievement (WOA) honorees are Molly Andriola, The Arts; Christiana Olojo, Education; Jenna Armstrong, Business; Kimberly Spurlock, Entrepreneur; Shannon Walker, Homemaker; Dr. Kim Waaso, Medical; Dianne Lunsden, Visionary; M'Liss Painter, Human Services; Beth Whittier, Women's Advocate; Candy Todash, Volunteer; Kaaren Cambio, Community Activist; Letty Martinez, Spirit of FamilyTime; and Tracy Monk, Special Recognition.
The WOA recipients will be honored at FamilyTime's annual Hearts of Gold Gala on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 5:30-11 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Houston. Attendees will have an opportunity to support the nonprofit via bid boards, live auction, silent auction, and general donations. Money raised will fund operating costs, critical items and services, and FamilyTime's capital campaign for a new shelter.

For those not familiar with the organization, FamilyTime Crisis and Counseling Center is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs to encourage the mental health and wellness of the community, as well as promote safety and support for the prevention of domestic and sexual violence. FamilyTime's vision is to advocate for women, men and children in crisis situations and offer them the vital services they need to regain control of their lives. Services include counseling, case management, assistance with legal matters and shelter from an abusive situation.
