Tyrann's Turkeys, in partnership with the Houston Food Bank, donated over 300 turkeys and holiday meals to North Belt families. The former Arizona Cardinal was wanting to make sure families were prepared for their Thanksgiving meal.
This was not Mathieu's first visit to the Humble area. Shortly after Hurricane Katrina, Mathieu and his family were relocated to the Humble area for four months, while waiting for the all clear to return to New Orleans.
"I've been fortunate to have great people support me throughout my life, so it is a blessing to be able to give back to others," Mathieu said. "I think it is important for me to never forget that."
Mathieu's teammates also came out to help pass out holiday foods. Families in attendance left with a turkey and ingredients for a great Thanksgiving dinner. Humble High School football was present to help carry food items to cars and members from the Kingwood Trails National Charity League helped pass out food.
