Our friends at 838 Sushi were victims of a "dine & dash" theft earlier today.

Around lunchtime on Thursday, June 7, a man in a red Ford pickup truck parked in the lot in front of 838 Sushi and walked inside the restaurant. He ordered meals and drinks to go. When his order was ready, he grabbed everything and rushed out the door...Without paying.

One of the workers followed him out to the parking lot, asking him to stop and pay several times. The suspect ignored them and got in his vehicle. They managed to snap a couple of pictures of the man and his vehicle as he left the parking lot.

They sent this to us in hopes that other businesses in the area would recognize his picture/vehicle and stop him from stealing from them as well.

Hell yes. In my old state that would be considered defrauding an innkeeper statute which is theft of services from a business. We used to catch these types trying to run out of Dennys without paying in my previous employment.

The only time stealing is okay if you are feeding your starving family (and I dont mean sushi). All other thieves need hit in the head with a cinder block.

I'm not sure if they filed a report or not. I think they were more concerned with the person stealing from another local business.
