Aw man, would love to take my boy to this, but he has a baseball tourney that morning... Sounds like one heck of an event though, good luck to all the little anglers out there!

Would be nice if Texas Parks And Wildlife Dept. would waive the fishing license requirement on that day for any adult who is fishing with a kid...

@EddyFree : As long as the kid has the reel, you are okay I think.

@EddyFree :

That would be great but the TXPWD wants to have their share too. We tried several years ago to petition just that for CCA or other sanctioned tournament fishing times.

@LuGar : Did you make this event? Just curious as to how it went, I know the weather wasn't the best but hope some little fishermen got to have a good time.

@Floyd : No unfortunately we did not. I got an email saying they were flooded with participants so we didnt register on time. That plus the weather and baseball games we couldnt make it.

@LuGar : That's a bummer... I ended up taking my boy and his buddy out to a couple little spots for some perch jerkin', ended up at Sheldon park's fishing ponds. They caught enough to stay busy, and watched a little gator cruising around between the first and second ponds. The kids thought that was pretty cool from a distance. Overall the weather really put a damper on their fishing and baseball for the weekend, hoping our next trip will be better.
