According to reports, on Nov. 16, the Crosby Fire Department requested investigators with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office assist with a fire in the 12600 block of Crosby Lynchburg Rd. that severely injured a dog.

“Investigators determined Edwin Jermaine Stewart (42, Crosby) started a dog kennel on fire with an ignitable liquid while the dog was inside,” said Chief Investigator Dean Hensley. "The canine sustained generalized scarring, lacerations and ulcerations to 60 percent of its body. On Nov. 30, Stewart was charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal.”

Stewart has an open, no-bond warrant for his arrest. The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is asking for tips on Edwin Jermain Stewart’s whereabouts.

If you have any information, contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submit tips online at www.crime-stoppers.org. Tips may also be sent via text message by texting the following: TIP610 plus the information to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters remain anonymous.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Investigations Division is responsible for fire, arson, and explosion investigations in unincorporated Harris County.

Cruelty to animals is a sign of a true criminal with psychological problems! They need to find him, put him in a dog house and light it on fire! Just horrible someone would do this!

Not even a way to escape. I have names for him that can't be posted but I would love to see someone put him in a kennel with the fire just getting closer each hour. You couldn't set him but you could sure make him real nervous.

@ladybeachbum What is sickening is how could he reach this point of doing this ? How many other things has he done & people knew or saw & didn't address his issues . His parents never saw any type of cruelty ? These folks get girlfriends, wives ,kids & that is a horrifying thought when you know what he did to a completely helpless dog . I really doubt this is his first time to do something so horrible .
