Salata is set to open on August 25 right next to Generation Park at 14237 East Sam Houston Parkway N Suite 250.
This will be franchisee Karim Haji's second location to open...the first was in Kingwood last month.
"What is Salata?" you might ask. Well, it's a fully-customizable salad bar. You begin by choosing your favorite mix of greens. Then, you move down the line to include your choice of over 50 different toppings — not just tomatoes and cucumbers, but jicama, bean sprouts, feta cheese, fresh strawberries, pumpkin seeds and more! Pick from one of their 10 house-made dressings and then complete your meal by adding fresh, lean protein — including grilled chicken, pesto chicken, baked salmon, herb-marinated shrimp and several others!
Salata has planned a great event for their Grand opening Day. It’ll start with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the chamber at 10AM, then the DJ will take over and keep tunes streaming all day for the crowd. The first 50 people through the doors will eat for FREE that day (Salata will hand out wrist bands to those people before the doors open), and one lucky person will receive FREE Salata for a year courtesy of a raffle drawing. But that’s not all…They will have a prize wheel for customers to spin to win free food, gift cards, coupons, Salata swag and more!
Another huge part of the Grand Opening Day is where some of the proceeds are headed. Mr. Haji is donating 25% of the opening day profits to the
Harris County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program. For those not familiar with this, it's a subsidiary program of the Boy Scouts of America that is open to youngsters between the ages of 14 and 20 interested in a career in law enforcement. Student participants get a first-hand look at what it takes to be an officer and decide early on whether it is a career they want to pursue.
