In front of the office, there should be plenty of cameras that would show the shooter.

@tinytim : I'll just bet since we moved to Atascocita in 1978 that the population has more than tripled . And there were no apartments up here when we moved here .No grocery store drug store nothing except inside of Atascocita Oaks was a sort of like a stop & go I could get bread cokes & such & 1 gas pump was there . 1960 was 2 lane black top road with just trees on both sides of the road .So now we have apartment over load & new home overload . Concrete every where you look . So we have looked at other areas that we also liked . looked all around Conroe & Willis & their growth has gone wild also . All I see is Dayton isn't over run with people so it will be if you blink your eyes . For retired people this is a good place because everything they need is 1/2 mile from most of our homes .And you can get an ambulance fast .

What I'm talking about is Atascocita is a good place to grow old . I've got a grocery drug store & doctors office less than a mile from our house & restaurants & shopping . I think about my 85 yr old mother inlaw who was driving on interstate 10 with me in the car & changed lanes without ever looking ! She seem to do just fine in our little town in a limited environment is how I felt . I told my husband living here we are likely to be able to drive for a longer time if we don't need to go out on the highways , And if an older person needs the med center take a taxi .

@bbk : great points. I've been here a long time as well. I remember the few murders that rarely occurred were talked about for years. Now we have several murders every year and our police and elected officials tell us that nothing has changed, crime stats are the same as they have always been.

@scott314 : I hope you find something wonderful ! April sound up on Lake Conroe is an old subdivision that is gated with a guard at the gate . I find it peaceful inside of there . I've not seen people speeding in there like I see here . Shores 2 on Shores Dr is like a race track & so is Pinehurst trails & Pine Wind . They have some really nice older homes some are updated some need to be updated which is the kind I like . If the price reflects it needs to be redone wonderful things can be done .
