Don't parents have a choice to continue online all year?

I think this is important to think about because it impacts not just one child or one family but our entire community. Families staying home and families attending in person will both still be impacted as members of our community, plus the staff required for either option will be impacted and spread that impact to the rest of the community - even those with no family members attending or staffed in the district.

I'd say there is no such thing as "choice" in a pandemic as there are too many impacts outside our control.

We need to be all swimming in the same direction together.

@Luckysis :
Yes, parents do have the choice to online all year, there is a form to switch your child to in school at anytime you would like.

Taiwan: been back in school. Never missed a beat.
Never shut down.

But then again, this isn't their first rodeo having to deal with their crummy communist neighbors.

@CalTex : Compare their precautions to ours. They are doing dividers, mandatory surgical masks, sanitation at the door, temperature checks, etc.

Plus they (Asians) have been wearing mask for the last 20 years, so that's nothing new to them.

@HumbleGirl : My wife is FOB (15-16 yrs ago) from TW so we have been communicating with relatives back in TW.

You're right. Some schools are like that. They mingle in the hallways between classes and activity/lunch breaks too, in close quarters.
Im a firm believer that masks work after seeing what is going on in TW.
We just need to be more accepting of masks.

I hope they change UIL sport requirements. Look what is happening at the college level right now. UIL is requiring students show up for class and practice everyday even on off-campus virtual days.
