A good friend of mine and her hubby sold her home and got an RV. (A super nice one along with a very nice truck to pull it) They live and work in a particular town using an RV park and then every weekend they are off on road trips, visiting their children and grands...looks like a great option.

@HumbleGirl : There is a whole group of RV'ers that are campground hosts. They get to stay free in parks in exchange for light work. Stay a month or so then move on to another park. There is a national registry and many parks have waiting lists.

By the time you pay for the extra gas to get you where you are going, the camping price, storage and maintenance you might as well just pay for a hotel.
@Metro07 : That is very true but it sure is nice along the road and not have to drag suitcases. We've rented before a couple of times but it's expensive.
