increase in cases

after this holiday activity, do you think there will be a substantial increase in virus cases in a few weeks?
I will be very surprised if there is not an increase.

Yes, I do. People no longer care. Maybe that is a good thing, maybe that is a bad thing. Time will tell. As for me and my family we will continue to practice social distancing and wear masks when going anywhere we cannot practice social distancing. Maybe by the end of summer we will start to see some herd immunity.
I must say that limiting my contact with the general public has made me much happier. People are gross and inconsiderate. I feel for those in the service industry.

@tflea : How would you know about the total increase? Most have no symptoms. The denominator being used is still far off the total.

@SIPMOM :
Exactly how I feel. Thank goodness I love my home, and don't need people around me.

I think we will see an uptick. I also watched the case numbers 2 weeks after Mother's Day and they did not go down as I hope they should have.

I personally know a lady 79 yrs old who was staying home since March until Mother's Day when her kids wanted to see her. (Guess grandmas can't say no.)
They had a family gathering, and someone attending must've been asymptomatic and now she is in the hospital and 2 of her kids have it, too.
The risks are just not worth it. I don't understand why people insist on gathering when it is strongly advised NOT to! Is it that hard to have a little self-discipline?

You can't be serious. I don't know a single person whose whole persona flipped as a result of a president in office for less than 4 years. Maybe you have different associates. Lawd...

If cases go up will that be a direct reflection of our starting the school year?

Hypothetically speaking what I understand is it's about a 14 day turnaround we're at the end of May this will be interesting.

It has been discussed already there's so much that goes into getting ready for school it's not only a classroom environment it's transportation food prep and so much more!

@nikkiole : I like your analogy.

Saw one today that was gross about poop in a pool. Someone pooped and we all got out of the pool. We are trying to go back in the pool before the poop has been cleaned out. And yelling at anyone who doesn't want to. 🤢🤮😂

I think there will definitely be a substantial increase...But then I can hear the politicians, mostly Republican Governors, try to "smooth it over" by saying it's because we're testing many more people now so we're finding more...
