@TSUalum05 : Yeah they need to do a lot more testing to have an accurate count of what's really going on here.

I suspect people (journalists) are cherry picking metrics to make unfair judgement calls about how red states are handling the virus.

If we're going to go down that petty road and turn a life and death issue into a scorekeeping exercise, so be it. But as for me and assume most, the only score that really counts is the body count. By my observation, the blue states aren't doing too well in that department.

@TSUalum05 :

Typical Chronicle article. As @WeveBecomeEastHouston correctly stated they cherry picked a metric to sell the fear. They neglected to acknowledge the deaths per capita where Texas is one of the lowest. Information I"ve got shows we are at 9 per million deaths as opposed to Louisiana at 173 per million.

Should we test more? Absolutely. But fear sells and the Houston Comical proves it once again.

We need more testing.

@+1 : No doubt about it, but the ramifications in our State as quoted in the article are not dire. Put it another way. We need lots more testing on a regional basis. Harris County at the top of the list. The Comical cited stats for the whole State...selected metric.

They say the social distancing and staying home is working. So let's stop doing it? Our expected peak is in approximately 2 weeks. Makes no sense.

Remember Gov Abbott was the dip **** that believed Jade Helm. 🤦‍♀️

Clydepuckett : can you explain this a bit more?

@TSUalum05 : Yeah, no problem. As a State as quoted in the article, we are next to last in testing per capita. What they ignore is that we are in the top six for deaths per million population. We are at 9 per million. Louisiana is 173 per million as an example.
So as I said earlier, we need to make this more regional than a Statewide issue. So in parts of Texas.....like the western half......there is no dire need for testing. Continuing to keep the death count low is my major concern

I say all of this as the highest risk you can get. Heart bypass, 30 years of diabetes. I'm definitely in the kill zone.
