I remember when I could walk up to the nearest shopping strip and buy baseball cards. Remember Saturday morning cartoons?

Researching for a paper was done using a xerox machine, the card catalog, and microfiche.

I remember gas stations pumped gas, checked oil, and cleaned windshield, and gas was 25 cents a gallon (Louisiana 1971-72).

@Enzo : They are trying to go back to that in Illinois. My friend paid $1.09 today in Lake Geneva, WI. I think the last time it was that cheap was 1978 right after the great gas war.

Enzo : oh man I miss full service gas stations.. they were a thing of the past when I started to drive but a very fond memory of driving around with my mama

@DaycareMom : They used to give you S&H Green Stamps and you would redeem them after you filled books up. That's how I furnished my kitchen and bath in my first apartment. They also had a give away with full tanks at Texaco about 1960. I got my favorite blanket ever from those.

Remember when... you programmed computers and entered data by typing out punch cards on a card punch machine, then putting them in a card reader. I would walk around campus with a box of cards after spending hours in the computer center typing them. FYI... you always "wrote" in ink a sequential number on the cards in the upper right hand corner just Incase something happened so you could get them back in order. You also had to go back hours later or even the next day to get your print out...

@Smokeybear : I started on computers with mylar tape, and then built word processors. Late 70's.

Aww man....Brings me back to the days when me and Issac got ****-faced on some cheap homemade wine...While he was just about passed out I climbed a nearby tree and started throwing fruit at him for fun....He woke up the next day talking about something called gravity and stuff...We let him ramble because we knew he had a heck of a time the day before....Good times for sure!....
