Let me also mention that this isn't a "new" thing...Most people think unemployment is only for those who lose their jobs...BUT it also covers severe hour reductions by employers too....Many aren't aware of that...
For example, if a person normally has been getting 38 hours and all of a sudden their employer cuts them down to 24 hours, they may qualify for "partial unemployment" benefits...Companies have to pay part of the "claims"...If enough people at said company apply for the benefits, the company will most likely raise the hours back or at least within "reason"...
