HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Three men died early Friday and another man was hurt when the car they were in crashed into a tree in rural northeast Harris County.
It happened some time after 2 a.m. in the 12700 block of Aqueduct Road at Lake Houston Parkway. The car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver ran a stop sign, left the road, and crashed, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Two men died on the scene. A third man died while being transported to a hospital. Another man in the car was in surgery in serious condition.
The impact of the crash sent the car's engine into the cab of the car, authorities said.
"It was very, very fast. Just looking at the impact, it's very devastating," Gonzalez said.
The area of the crash is near Duessen Park just southwest of the Lake Houston dam in a sparsely populated area.

Just a wild guess, but judging from the time of the accident I bet alcohol was involved... So sad...

well, at least it looks like they didn't take out the property owners gate again; seems he has to replace it on a regular basis due to crashes like this.

I don't drive through there after dark. The hogs are lined up on the grass and I'm too afraid they will be in the street and I'll hit one

I feel bad for the men and their families but we've all scene what can happen when traveling at really high speeds. Just not worth it.

I agree Lu Gar just not worth it . Older people know & understand that . But I doubt there is a person alive that hasn't done something really insane in their life time . And all of us that managed to come out of it alive only did so by the grace of God .

@bbk : My Corvette could smoothly run down 45 from Dallas at 98 with no problem but it would have taken one person to pull out in front of me and be gone. I was lucky or had a guardian angel.
Sad for the families of these men. It only takes a split second .
