got us into the first gulf war. World oil supply. We have financial interests there. Not justified to start a war on their behalf. They blow up school bus full of kids with our bombs we continue to sell them, and when their adversaries successfully target legitimate targets, it is hysteria.
@redneckroy : What financial interests does the United States government have in Saudi Arabia?
As far as the United States oil dependency:
In 2018, U.S. net imports (imports minus exports) of petroleum from foreign countries averaged about 2.34 million barrels per day, equal to about 11% of U.S. petroleum consumption. This was the lowest percentage since 1957. Petroleum includes crude oil and petroleum products.Mar 29, 2019
The largest sources of U.S. imported oil were: Canada (40%), Saudi Arabia (11%), Venezuela (9%), Mexico (8%), and Colombia (4%).
We aren't as that dependent upon Saudi Oil as many countries are. Where are those countries military?
