But I heard you say the wrong cuss word, have relations with the wrong person, or wrong place, or even wrong time and you can find yourself in jail.
@cador : yes, I have proof about that living in my house. Someone was working early 80is in Saudi for a year, drove during Ramadan through the "countryside" and ended up right next to the Kaaba in Mekka. Not a good thing to do for a "Christian". Sat for about 1 month in jail. Needless to say, no luxury suite either.

Atascocita High School students have a trip to Dubai coming up. Can you imagine how many kids are going to have to walk on eggshells? Most of them cuss worse than sailors, are impulsive, have attention spans of tse-tse flies and are ignorant of the laws of our own country...and for sure ignorant of Dubai's strict laws. It's through one of those travel agencies, so I am fairly certain it isn't school-sponsored.

Add me on to this list. I have to take my daughter to a shotgun tournament in Mission, TX this weekend. I could use all the funds for this travel.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are very different from Saudi Arabia. They are fairly westernized. Mostly ex-pats living in the city.

Good lil taste of Dubai on Bravo network, Million Dollar Listing show, one of the RE Agents went over there to look at some property. It looks awesome over there (I'd still get in trouble over their laws).
If anybody wants to watch it Bravo plays re-runs all night. And my god, worth the watch just to check out the Agent Tracy's (who's not bad herself) assistant, j/s.

@AGLLM : is it true that the jail did not provide food? When I was there had heard your family or company had to bring the food if you were incarcerated.

@Vodkatini : no, he got food, but for sure nothing he was used too. He worked for a smaller European company at the time. It took them a few days before they found him and anyone showed up to visit. They were bringing fruits when they came to visit. 24 hour neon light and a old stinky mattress on the floor.
