I hate to be that guy...

But does it bother anyone else that the house where the shooting occurred seems to be back to normal. Sitting ....standing at curbside or in the street staring down cars as they come and go.

Let me follow up by saying to look at me no one would guess what I used to be like.... I was homeless and a lot of trouble. Any one can change... but they have to want to and it takes effort.

It was reported that the house owner takes in troubled kids. That may be true and it is not easy but you can not leave kids you have taken in.... because they are troubled.... alone.

I am concerned for the neighborhood and mostly the neighborhood kids. Is there going to have to be another incident before something can be done? The problem I am having is I don't know what can be done or if there is anything.

If they are kids (people) that are trying to change I will be the first to extend my hand and offer help as I have had to make that change but there has to be evidence that a change is wanted and sitting around looking like someone looking for trouble is not the way to show that evidence.

Apologies for my rant...........

This story just gets more and more bizarre. I heard rumors of the same kind about taking in troubled youth and leaving them alone at all hours of the day/night. Who does that, then leaves them alone/unsupervised? Not insinuating anything about this particular family, but (again, in general) do these families get paid by the state to take in these troubled kids (assuming that's true...I don't know that it is)?

I can't help but think that if that had happened at my home, I'd be holed up in a corner somewhere unable to move to this day. Emoticon

@Dadof3 I don't believe apologies are needed, what happened was a tragedy, nobody will dispute that. But you have your own kids to protect, your rant is understandable. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what can be done other than voice your concerns to the homeowner, than start calling popo and report loud music or speeding vehicles, or strange vehicles on the street? It sucks that you have to deal with that. I suppose if none of the above works, try a good old fashioned blanket party!

The chance to anonimously give a beat down by throwing a blanket over the receivers head . Usually used by a group to get a point across.

Are you saying there is some type of family here? I understand the home to be owned by a man in his twenties who used to live with his family in Eagle Springs.

Edited a bit. I was mad when I first posted and thought better of it.

@Dadof3 I would talk to the police about it and see how you can help. They know what's going on there.

@Dadof3 I know it's not, didn't mean to make lite of it. Truth is , you need to do what you have to in order to protect your own. I don't envy you, can't really offer an solution.

@greg darn forums....no offense taken I just really wish it was that easy.....

@humblegirl we have been told by the police they know but when a news report from Katy about the woman whose boyfriend set her on fire and they show the police reports against him it shows how their hands are tied. Just keep praying and stay vigilant that's all you can do I guess I'm just disappointed I moved here to get away from this. I didn't want my kids to grow up in an environment like I did. 😑

@Dadof3 We had this problem on my street before! I stayed on the phone calling the police which obligated them to come.
In other words I was such a pain in the *** the renters eventually moved on but it was a lot of work and required consistency on my part!
I let them know I video taped them and took pictures etc... I let them know I wasn't scared and that time it did work to my advantage.
They knew I had cameras on my home so I didn't worry about retaliation and they knew we carried.

It's really a hell of a position to be in!

@Dadof3 No you are not the only concerned neighbor. I agree with you. In my opinion they act like nothing ever happened. We finally had the owner acknowledge what happened and is supposed to replace our window. I don't want to be fearful for myself or my family.

This is so sad to hear. Were charged ever filed? I seem to have lost track of the updates.
