Okay. This is the BEST recipe for Cranberry Sauce. You will want it on everything. It's just crazy good:

Bag of fresh cranberries
Bunch of cilantro, chopped
Bunch of green onions, cut in 3" pieces
Jalapeño, seeded and chopped
3/4 cup sugar
Juice of 2 limes

Put everything in a food processor and turn it on. That's it.

@Catmae yummo. That puts a totally different spin on it. I make mine the traditional way: cranberries, sugar, slices of orange and lemon all cooked together. Let it set overnight. It's great on day after turkey sandwiches.

My mother made these for me every Christmas. I will be attempting to make them myself this year. I say attempting because a baker I am not. The recipe is straight from eagle brand, that's the way mama made them and they were delish!

I don't really use recipes, but my favorite Thanksgiving side is roasted root vegetables. I just rough chop (big chunks, not diced) carrots, parsnips, turnips, purple potatoes (pretty!), peeled and halved shallots, and whole garlic cloves and throw them on a big rimmed cookie sheet. Drizzle liberally with a good quality extra virgin olive oil, then a good quality honey (just eyeball the amounts), lots of fresh thyme leaves, sea salt and cracked black pepper and toss it all together until the veggies are well coated. Roast in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes to an hour (stir it around every 15) until deep golden/caramelized. Something magical happens with olive oil and honey! Emoticon

You can use any root veggies you like and roast these the day before and just throw in the oven with your other stuff to re-warm. So simple/rustic, but crazy good!

Happy juice

Take a large glass, pour it half full with Gentleman Jack add a small amount of cola (add ice if you must) drink it quickly. The holidays fly by and after the 2nd one even aunt Ethels fruit cake tastes great.

BANANA BREAD BROWNIES

Ingredients:
1-1/2 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1-3/4 (3 or 4) ripe bananas, mashed
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Brown Butter Frosting:
1/2 c. butter
4 c. powdered sugar
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. milk

Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375F. Grease and flour 15x10-inch jelly roll pan. For the bars, in a large bowl, beat together sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until creamy. Blend in bananas and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and blend for 1 minute. Stir in walnuts.
2. Spread batter evenly into pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
3. Meanwhile, for frosting, heat butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until boiling. Let the butter turn a delicate brown and remove from heat immediately.
4. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract and milk. Whisk together until smooth (it should be thicker than a glaze but thinner than frosting). Using a spatula, spread the brown butter frosting over the warm bars (the frosting will be easier to spread while the bars are still warm

@Catmae Not as chewy as a traditional chocolate brownie but not as soft as a cake.
