If guess it would 59 I I know it's in the museum district. Hmm but I just saw that they don't close till 6. So I'm wondering if we left at 6 then by the time we got to 59 it might not be to bad. I dunno might just wait and go in the morning

U can take the HOV on 59 since you will have more than one person in the car. Exit Eastex Park N Ride and turn left and you'll come all the way up Atascocita Rd. Should be about 45 min and generally all at posted speeds.

I don't recommend free nights because they are extremely packed. Takes away the enjoyment if you can't get to the exhibits.

@Nancywanett The museum is open from 10am to 6pm...If I was trying to avoid traffic, I would plan to arrive by 10am... should take you about 40 minutes if you leave by 9:15amIf you leave the museum district by 4pm, it should take you 40-45 minutes to return to the Big AIf you leave at 6pm, estimate 1 hr...Since you have more than one passenger, you can get on the 59 North HOV for free (after downtown and before 610)... that should save you quite a bit of time if you happen to be near that area after 4:30

Not really that bad at rush hr coming north on 59. Everyone is pretty courteous

I always seem to catch it in rush hour. Doesn't matter when I leave either.

To answer the rush hour question, it's really quite simple.Monday from 5:00am till Friday at 10:00pm

Sandman's advice is perfect for this type of outing. Leave home around 9 or so and leave the museum by 3:30 - 4:00pm.
