Absolutely - Carfax is for new cars as well. We ran it and found something regarding a new car we were going to purchase and ended up getting a different one on the lot.

what would you find when running a carfax on a new car? always seen it used for used cars, not new

yes, all the time or call your insurance company and have them run it free if dealer doesnt have it or plays stupid. planet ford sold us a suv that salesman said had a clear carfax...didnt ask to see it. turns out it had been in a accident

There is a certain amount of information that doesn't have to be disclosed. For instance, you could buy a "new" car and find out down the road that someone else bought it and returned it. Sometimes damage occurs during shipping and it's fixed and that info does not get passed on to the purchaser.

@PalmSprings OMG I think that happened to us!!!!! We jus bought a car and it's been in the shop longer than I have owned which has been literally 2 weeks and I was trying to be patient but we still don't know what is wron with it and now I'm starting to get angry

@PalmSprings Several years ago I bought a new Explorer from a dealer that had 5,000 miles on it. They told us it had been "driven/borrowed" by the wife of a Houston Astro. I traded it in (to the same dealer) a couple of years ago, but was never convinced it had not been in an accident.

@Catmae: You are probably right!@yomom: That stinks! If you found info that shows the vehicle was serviced before you bought it I'd contact a manager at the dealership and work through the issues.

I went there tonight sadly I'm not sure they are going to work with giving a new car. I told I want another one just like mine or give me my trade back

Wow - did you buy it recently? There's a lemon law thing in Texas, too, but I don't know anything about that. What have you had repaired?
