Texas Rising mini series.....worst piece of work I have ever seen on the History Channel. Terrible acting, off point and landscape setting is wrong.

I just watched 1/2 of the first episode. It was filmed in Durango, Mexico, so that has to pass for San Antonio, Goliad, Houston, etc. It looks too much like far west Texas, but will be passable for Yankee viewers. I think the actors and director spent too much time faking the Texas accent and it is a bit distracting and interferes with the natural flow--directing error. Bill Paxton sounds like he's reading from cue cards, but he has in everything I've ever seen him in....bless his heart.

Overall, I give it a C+ and will keep watching it. I'll give it a B- if in the next episode Brendan Fraser takes his shirt off and looks like he did in George of the Jungle.
