Over the weekend hubby and I went out a lot. It really occurred to us that Atascocita still only has junk food in the area.
If we wanted a nice meal it still required us leaving the area.
Frustrating!

Aside from Italianos and Lupe Tortilla, we have to drive out towards the mall. We really need more decent choices here! Christophers is decent too, and we usually order Chinese from Grand Garden.

It's been really hard for my husband, coming from Austin where there's so many healthy delicious choices everywhere you look. There's restaurants we like in Atascocita but nothing very fresh and healthy. We do go for date nights in Houston every couple of months and kind of muddle through with what we have here the rest of the time.

We have too many frozen-food chain "restaurants". Yuck.

The only quality, fresh and healthy choices in Atascocita are a couple of sushi places. Wazabi (always!) and (sometimes) 838. You can't really get away with "not fresh" with sushi for too long. Emoticon

Tipico Cafe is another good option for fresh. Not everything necessarily healthy, but fresh! Emoticon

@brightlights

Ginger is the best sushi around here hands down... no contest. Wazabi and 838 are good, but Ginger runs circles around them...

@Sheltie_Momma
Nothing is healthier than raw fish... that's the way God intended it to be eaten... give it a try.

and how about the Greek place on Atascocita Rd by the music school? I like that place...

Wazabi. Ask him to make you a Bayou Billy - either shrimp or crawfish - cannot be beat.

You are so correct Lynnsgirl. Too many chain places around here. Depending on my days off we take road trips to the woodlands or Conroe.

@brightlights Can't forget Tin Roof! A sliced turkey plate with side salad (their side salads are huge & delicious btw) is a fav of mine.

Closest place in atascocita you can get a steak is maybe Chili's or Mojo's. If you want salady healthy, Italiano's has one of THE best grilled chicken salad's I've ever had.

I love going to this place when I am in the mood to leave the Atascocita area. Best Greek food in the area plus lots of entertainment including belly dancers.
