A question for ladies only--about the uterus... Men, don't bother reading.

Has anybody had an endometrial biopsy? I'm wondering what I can expect because it sounds painful as hell. If you PM me, your message will remain private, of course.

Maybe get a second opinion, if you are unsure about it?

I'm just a big ol' wimp and dislike the unknown pain factor. All I've found online are clinical explanations, which are informative, but not first-person experiences.

I can think of other things that are more painful. Not that big of deal.

Went through it with my DW, but due to thread restrictions imposed, I can't comment. Please forgive me for reading...

Good luck. T&P's........

@Clydepuckett Lol! I didnt want the menfolk to think this was an exciting post about boobs or pole dancing, only to find out it's just about a uterus. Lol. Please, feel free to elaborate on your wife's behalf.

Okay, thus released from the restrictions, is this a follow up procedure to a Pap smear? That was the situation we encountered. If so, I'm confident that the odds are in your favor....false positives are rampant. We know the drill. Answer on PM if you feel better about it.

As to the biopsy, DW didn't think it was that painful......but she'd been through two child births by that time, so maybe pain is a relative term......she hates pain, though.....and it's not an event she recalls as particularly outstanding. She just dreaded the results....it was all good. Ask her about a kidney stone and you'll get graphic pain detail.....

Hope the best for you.....from a cancer survivor(me)...as of today anyway.

@Clydepuckett Congrats on being a cancer survivor!! That is awesome!

Yes, it's a follow-up procedure post Pap and post ultrasound. I am not a patient person, so maintaining my sanity while waiting for the results will be a huge challenge.

Labor pain is by far the worst pain I have ever experienced, so I am very thankful to hear that this procedure doesn't even come close!

Thanks to you and your wife for sharing the experience. You have helped to ease my anxieties.

@tb505 From previous posts, I assumed you are a man, unless I am confusing you with another poster. That is why I called you a goofball, thinking you were being silly by posting about experiencing female reproductive system issues. If I am incorrect, I truly apologize.

I see you've never had a kidney stone.....ask any ER nurse about that.
