Carly Fiorina - 90% sure she will seek the Republican candidacy. Hmmm, I know very little about her but I'm interested.

Anyone know more? Off to research. Emoticon

@AtascaGuy Yes, she is often known as a failure of a CEO at HP. She is also a breast cancer survivor. I kinda like her, but I have to wonder what happened at HP. Do we really want a failed corporate executive running the Executive branch? Still, I'd consider her over most candidates. I think with HP, she might have just been the wrong person for the job. She did negotiate the merger with Compaq, though. I think she supports conservative causes, and wants to reform/simplify the Federal tax code. Better choice than Jeb, but not my favorite.

@asxshadowsxfade I'm interested in anyone that is not a career politician.

Her executive resume with HP is poor. Not a contender IMO.

@tb505

Totally agree. Got friends and acquaintance from the old Compaq who would love five minutes in a room alone with her Highness......her CEO reign sucked......wouldn't cast a positive vote for her.

But, I'm encouraged that we are evaluating candidacies based on executive experience.

If we had similar requirements, we might have avoided the last six+ years of incompetence from a Pres with no executive experience.....

How bout we use this as a lesson?

learn a lesson and not turn into a partisan dig.on the opposition...
I believe that would be called " the height of hypocrisy" Clyde.

@Fairlane67

Look, I just spent too much message board capital on "hypocrisy" on another thread. (Cruz)....can't afford too much more logic based facts here, lest I be labeled...something.

At some point, you gotta give credit to tb505's constructive thought......and hope it sticks....we should learn from our mistakes.......not electing community organizers who carry that MO to the Executive Branch would be a good start......discarding failed CEO' s as candidates would be step two.

OK, quit interrupting my dream.......I just made a case for Romney.....again.

The world would certainly be different if Powell had run

I agree with this, but maybe for a different reason.

Don't want to assume anything, so why do you say such?

if we exclude those without executive experience then should not we exclude those freshman Senators. Additionally, if we shouldn't have elected a community organizer, then the other side has to present a candidate that , al least, say he will represent all the people.

Which candidate has ever been able to represent "all the people"? I am not sure really what that even means?

It would be impossible for a candidate to represent all of the people. We're too divided right now and their doesn't appear to be any indication that will change anytime soon.

Concerning Powell - I think the Mideast would look a lot different then today.
Domestic issues would have been handled better also.
