Catfishing
I plan to go cat fishing with my boyfriend this weekend on Saturday, I live in Atascocita Shores... Where is the best place to catch a lot of fish... Tell me the secret spots
Are you planning on bank fishing or boat fishing? I have had some luck on the San Jacinto west fork, just east of the W. Lake Houston bridge by Sharkys, but I fish out of a kayak and I don't know of any spots to bank fish around there... Most of the bank fishing spots I have tried on a Saturday get pretty packed up quickly. But I will be keeping an eye on this post, as I am always looking for new spots myself
I go to the Lake Livingston Dam area near Coldsprings for the big size catfish and Strippers Bass. You have to go to the Marine store to pay for the entrance fee to the dam area.
dwight eisenhower park, if you make your way towards the spots at the very back, I have seen guys back in there with a lot of catfish the times I have been there.
best listen to cbp210, because I don't fish, I just like to hike and visit with folks and I remembered some pretty happy guys back in there but it's been a couple years.
Me too. Before all this rapid growth I remembered Eisenhower was a secret garden hole and it was wild. Today it is a different story and I see nothing but beer bottles all over.
Those gators will hang back under the dock and just let the kids catch their supper for them, makes me so mad to catch one and then lose it to a dang gator!
I'd stay away from Eisenhower if your bank fishing. Like cbp210 says it get really packed, especially weekends. I have had some luck there in the kayak away from the crowd, but still usually smaller fish. Sheldon Lake has good fish, but is very overgrown with vegetation, and yes LOTS of gators.
May be more info than catfishing, but if you google "places to fish in Harris county, TX " it will give you a exhaustive list with driving directions and comments.
Includes some in Galveston area. Info by TX parks and wildlife.
