@asxshadowsxfade :Third party candidates can participate if they poll over 15%....None of the other candidates are polling that high...And that's fair as they would just take time away from the more supported contenders that more people are wanting to hear from...

Yeah, they'd be forced to actually debate instead of attack each other, but I'm sure that would negatively affect the ratings. If 5% is enough for a political party to gain minority party status, it should be enough to get into the debates. What are the GOP and Democrats afraid of, that the third party options may seem more desirable then the two highly unfavorable candidates they're running out there?

@asxshadowsxfade :I think it's more about TV Time....There's only 90mins...With the top two by polls, that's possibly 45mins each....With 4 candidates, each would get 22mins 30seconds...Now, if they divided up the time by poll percents, it would look like this: Clinton would get 40mins, Trump would have 37mins, Johnson would get 9 mins, and Stein would enjoy 4 mins...So the question is, do you want to hear more from the candidates most likely to actually be your next President? I'm sure Donald and Hillary would both love to have 8 people up there, that's less heat on them...
