I have a dumb door question.

We got a nice storm door from a neighbor, but the handle is on the wrong side for us to use with the front door.

My question is, can't we just flip the door upside down and reattach the handle on the correct side? I'm really hoping that we can use it. With a nice coat of paint, it will look nice and keep the cold air out in the winter.

Well, phooey. Thanks for the info. That's what DH said, but I'm hard-headed and thought there may be a way to make it fit.

Doors are made to swing one way or the other. If you open the door, put your back to the hinge and reach out for the door knob - if your reaching with your right hand it's a right hand door if it's your left hand, it's a left hand door - the hinges go one way or the other as well as the internal workings of the hardware, it doesn't work to just install it backward/upside down. Sorry!
